About the PositionSurgical Services: OR Tech/Surgical Tech Shift: 4 X 10 s, Days 06:30 15:00 ** Special Requirements ** - Tech will assist in Sterile Processing during downtime. Types of Cases REQ: Work Settings: Ambulatory OR, First Assist, General OR, Labor & Delivery, Pedi General OR, Trauma. BARIATRICS: Gastric bypass, Gastric Sleeve, Lap band, Laparoscopic assisted cases. Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT): Endoscopic sinus procedures, Direct Laryngoscopy, Septoplasty/Rhinoplasty, Mastoidectomy/Tympanoplasty/Stapedectomy, Radical neck dissection, Tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, Tracheostomy, Laparoscopic assisted cases. ENDOSCOPIC PROCEDURES: Bronchoscopy, Colonoscopy, EGD, Peg tube placement/exchange, Laparoscopic assisted cases. GENERAL SURGERY: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection - Open/LAP, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy partial/total, Whipple, Liver Resection. Gynecology: Abdominal hysterectomy, Anterior/Posterior repair, Bilateral tubal ligation, C-sections, Dilation & Curettage, Laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures, Therapeutic Abortion, Vaginal Hysterectomy. ORTHOPEDIC: Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction, Arthroscopy, Arthrotomy, Carpal tunnel release, Laminectomy/discectomy, Spinal Fusion, Total knee replacement, Total hip replacement, Closed/Open reduction of fractures, Laparoscopic assisted cases. Plastics: Free Flap Microvascular, Mastectomy with tram flap reconstruction, Laparoscopic assisted cases. PODIATRY: Ankle fusion, Bunionectomy, Hallux vagus arthroplasty/arthrodesis, Metatarsal surgery. Robotics: Colorectal Robotic Surgery, Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, Gastrointestinal robotic surgery, Gynecologic robotic surgery, Otolaryngologic robotic surgery, Urologic robotic surgery. Trauma: Amputations, Gunshot/stab wounds, MVA (multiple injuries). Urology: Circumcision, Cystectomy, Cystoscopy, Laparoscopic assisted cases, Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy, Radical Lymph Node Dissection, Ultrasonic Lithotripsy, Transurethral resection of the prostate, Ureteroscopy. Emergency management: Fire Safety. Equipment/Instrumentation/Supplies: Care of scopes & fiber optic equipment, Cell saver, Crash Cart, Drills (multiple types), Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources/cords, Washer/sterilizer, Case Cart, High level disinfectant (HLD). Professional Knowledge and Skills: Aseptic Technique, Instrument Processing, Isolation Precautions, Laser Safety, Radiation Safety, Sharps Safety, Specimen Handling/labeling, Sterilization/Disinfection, Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure, Equipment Documentation. Sterile Processing: Assembly/Wrap, Endoscopes, Flexible Endoscope Reprocessing, Knowledge of decontamination and sterilization process and indicators, Preparation of hard Instrument containers, Repairs, Scope/Probe Reprocessing, Sets/trays assembly, Single instruments. Daily Census: 20 Years of experience REQ: 1 Year Experience Required First-timers accepted: (Y/N) Yes Community Hospital and Trauma Level II Experience Preferred. Weekend REQ: Every Third Weekend. National Certs REQ: (NBSTSA and/or NCCT) National Certs REQ: Yes - NBSTSA and/or NCCT, BLS. State Licensed Preferred. BLS REQ: (Y/N) Yes BLS REQ: (Y/N) Yes Is on-call REQ? (Y/N) What is the req? Yes, One per week. Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Regular floating may be required between departments, units and facilities as needed.
