Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10:45 AM - 9:15 PM Experience: Minimum 3 years required License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS required; CNOR preferred Must-Have: - General OR and Trauma experience required - Level I trauma experience required - Cerner experience preferred - Required Bariatric case experience in laparoscopic assisted cases - General Surgery case experience including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, and thyroidectomy - Required Neurology case skills including cervical fusion and craniotomy - Required Orthopedic case skills including arthroscopy and closed/open reduction of fractures - Required Trauma case skills including management of amputations and gunshot wounds - Required emergency management skills for code response and fire safety - Experience with required equipment and instrumentation including electrosurgical units Description: This position is for an Operating Room Nurse. The nurse will work in a fast-paced operating room setting. The shift is a 4x10-hour schedule, primarily during the day. The nurse will need to have strong experience in general OR and trauma cases. The nurse will be responsible for assisting in various surgical procedures across different specialties, excluding cardiovascular surgeries. Required experience includes working with a variety of clinical cases including general surgery, neurology, and orthopedics. The role may require participation in an on-call rotation, though call may not occur frequently. Candidates must possess excellent teamwork skills and be able to float within their skill set as required. All time off must be approved by management in advance. The facility operates a total of 23 surgical rooms and serves diverse patient populations. The environment emphasizes adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards.
