Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 06:30 - 17:00 Experience: 2 years preferred License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CNOR preferred Must-Have: Previous travel experience preferred Description: Operating room experience is required. Previous charge experience is preferred. Experience with a patient ratio of 1:1 is desired. Experience with the Epic charting system is a plus. Candidates should have experience in a community hospital setting. Call is required for 4-5 shifts every 6 weeks, including weekends. Floating between neighboring facilities may be necessary. General OR skills are essential. Specific surgical procedures include: - Laryngectomy - Radical neck dissection - Tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy - Tracheostomy - Appendectomy - Cholecystectomy - Colon resection - Hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical) - Laparoscopic assisted procedures - Thyroidectomy (partial/total) - Whipple procedure - Anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) - Anterior cervical fusion - Craniotomy - Kyphoplasty - Laminectomy/discectomy - Lumbar fusion - Extreme lateral interbody fusion (XLIF) - Cataract extraction/implant - Eye trauma management - Glaucoma surgery - Arthroscopy - Closed reduction of fractures - Open reduction of fractures - Total joint replacement - Ankle fusion - Bunionectomy - Cystoscopy - Nephrectomy - Prostatectomy - Transurethral resection of the prostate - Colorectal robotic surgery - Gastrointestinal robotic surgery - Gynecologic robotic surgery - Neurological robotic surgery - Orthopedic robotic surgery - Otolaryngologic robotic surgery - Transoral robotic surgery (TORS) - Urologic robotic surgery Daily patient census is around 30. There are 13 operating rooms available. Interdisciplinary support includes interpretation services and rapid response teams. Pre-approved time off is allowed during the contract period.
