Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A highly skilled Registered Nurse with strong orthopedic expertise is sought for an operating room assignment in Box Elder, SD. This contract position involves working in a high-volume surgical setting with 11 OR suites and 1 GI suite, managing 30 to 50 cases daily. The focus is primarily on orthopedic procedures such as total joints (including MAKO robotics-assisted surgeries), arthroscopy, spine, foot and ankle, hand surgeries, and ORIF, with occasional general, ENT, GYN, and plastic surgeries.

Responsibilities include circulating in the OR with specific duties across various surgical specialties, utilizing advanced equipment such as the MAKO robot. Candidates will also occasionally float to other units within the facility as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current RN license in South Dakota or a compact state
• Minimum 3-4 years recent experience as an OR circulator, with strong orthopedic experience
• ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Experience with robotics in the OR, highly preferred MAKO proficiency
• Demonstrated experience in total joints, arthroscopy, and orthopedic surgical procedures

Schedule and Work Details:

• 13-week contract with 1-2 weekday call shifts per month and approximately 1 weekend call shift during the entire assignment
• One late shift per week (starting at 1630) when staffing shortages occur
• Floating to multiple OR suites as needed
• Scrubs provided on site

Additional Information:Candidates must indicate if they have prior work history with this health system; those who have must have ended employment at least six months before submission. Clinicians are required to badge in and out daily. Local travelers living within 80 miles of the facility should note that their hourly rate will be adjusted accordingly.
