About the PositionOur client in North Carolina is seeking a skilled Orthopedic Surgeon for a 3-day assignment beginning Jun 29, 2026. This role involves 24-hour call shifts and focuses on a diverse range of orthopedic procedures including arthroscopy, total joint replacement for hip and knee, and fracture care. The Physician will handle a mix of consults, emergency department visits, and surgeries such as wrist, ankle, and hip fracture repairs.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform arthroscopy procedures.
- Conduct total joint replacement surgery for hip and knee.
- Execute joint revision or repair for shoulder, hip, and knee.
- Manage hand procedures, including tendon release/repair and peripheral nerve surgery.
- Perform spinal surgery with instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar).
- Perform spinal surgery without instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar).
- Handle 0-3 consults per day.
- Address 0-2 visits to the ED for closed reductions and admissions.
- Conduct 0-2 surgeries per day, including wrist, ankle, and hip fractures and I&D.
- Stabilize and transfer long bone trauma cases.
- Patient encounters per shift vary.
Additional Information
- Board Certification in Orthopaedic Surgery is required.
- Experience with Meditech EHR is preferred.
